Why volunteer with us?

John Boyle, the Derrry City & Strabane Mayor in 2019, surrounded by REACH Across staff and members at the launch of the REACH Across Youth Café.

“It's rewarding and fulfilling to be part of the development of members, from being shy and quiet young people to confident and engaging senior members. It's also rewarding to support senior members when they progress to the role of assistant leader and also watching them grow and cement lifelong friendships.”

How do I volunteer as a leader?

Teacher and Student

To volunteer, you must be over 18 years old (18 to 21 years for assistant leaders and 21+ years for youth leaders). You can fill out an application form or express interest in training as a volunteer youth leader at REACH Across.

During the training, we conduct an Access NI enhanced check due to our roles involving children and young people. This training for working with our young people covers volunteer responsibilities, the youth program, codes of conduct, and child protection. Volunteers can also participate in additional training on topics like mental health first aid, drug awareness, and food safety.

Any questions?

If you have any questions or would like to chat with one of the team to find out more, just get in touch and we’d be happy to help.

Fundraise for REACH Across

We always need more funds to continue running all our events and activities. If you can help with fundraising – whether that’s through a sponsored walk, bake sale or car boot – we’d be keen to hear more about your idea.

Write a blog about your experience

If you had a great time at one of our events recently, how about writing a blog for our website? Other members and those thinking about joining up would love to hear about what we’ve been up to.
